Police Arrest Possible Lollipop Bandit Suspect

Cobb police even offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.

Roberts said that while authorities could not get into the details of what led to Johnson’s arrest, he said officials had recovered a portion of the money taken in the Saturday incident. The amount taken in the robbery, he added, was “not substantial.”

He said Saturday’s robbery saw a lone perpetrator walk into the bank about 12:20 p.m. and hand the teller a note demanding money.

“He never said a word to her. He took the money and ran out the door and jumped into a getaway car,” Roberts said.

Authorities believe Johnson was working alone in the robbery, Roberts said, and no other suspects are being sought at this time.

Other law enforcement agencies are speaking to Johnson, Roberts added, as they investigate unsolved bank robberies.

Prior to Saturday’s incident, Roberts said the last bank robbery to occur in Hiram is believed to be an incident that occurred May 2010 at .
