Man Suspected of Attempted Rape in Front of Children

When one child tried to help his mother, the suspect allegedly punched the child, grabbed him around the neck and threatened him, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

A Villa Rica man is accused of attempting to rape a Mableton woman, and assaulting one son who came to his mother's defense.

The alleged incident occurred just after 9:15 p.m. April 22 at a home in the 100 block of Cooper Lake Road.

Jesse Fletcher allegedly grabbed the woman, pushed her on the bed and held her there, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Their three children—a 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl—were home at the time of the alleged incident.

When one of the boys tried to help his mother, Fletcher allegedly punched him, grabbed him around the neck and threatened him, according to the warrant.

"Accused said, 'I'll show you how to fight to the death' and 'someone is going to die tonight,' " the officer wrote in the warrant.

Fletcher was arrested on charges that include one count of attempted rape, two counts of simple battery, three counts of cruelty to children in the third degree, two counts of terroristic threats and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Despite a November 1990 conviction in Florida that prohibits him from carrying firearms, Fletcher allegedly had a 9mm pistol, according to the warrant.

He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.

notes that this news report really does not make any sense and is thankful we've been commanded to not judge (Matthew 7:1) and live in a country where all are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

It's not that we should't trust people, but we have to be careful to whom we entrust our kids when we have some other tasks to do because if they can't escape danger, they got nothing to. I have to share to you this cool safety service called Safekidzone that when my daughter needs my help, she just presses a red button and it will make a conference call with me, his so-called safety network and the 24/7 call center calling the nearest 911 in case of true emergency. You better try this https://login.safekidzone.com/mobilesafety/?CampaignLandingPage=RelentlessProtectionSafeLink&refcode=relentlessprotection&a_aid=514ae0d65ccc2
