Mableton Carjacking Suspect At-Large

Police said the incident took place Friday night on Mableton Parkway.

Cobb Police are looking for the suspect in a carjacking in Mableton Friday night and the vehicle he allegedly stole from a female motorist.

Officer Michael Bowman of Cobb Police said the stolen car is a grey 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix with Georgia tags PDG 5689, and that the suspect is a black male, approximately 19 or 20 years old.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and was armed with a small silver semi-automatic pistol, Bowman said.

He said the incident took place around 7:20 p.m. in the 7100 block of Mableton Parkway. The victim was stopped at stop sign when her car was struck by another vehicle from behind, according to police.

The motorist of the other car jumped out and toward the woman, pulling out a handgun and demanding her car, Bowman said. The victim complied and the suspect drove away in the Grand Prix toward Interstate 20, according to police.

Police said the vehicle the suspect was driving before the collision was reported to have been carjacked in Atlanta earlier Friday and was recovered on I-20 at Six Flags Parkway.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Cobb Police at 770-499-3945.
