Cobb Remembers Officer Killed 20 Years Ago

The family of a Cobb police officer who was shot and killed 20 years ago held two memorial celebrations in his honor.
Officer Robert James Ingram was fatally shot at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, July 13, 1993, while investigating a suspicious person near the intersection of Marble Mill Road and Marr Avenue in Marietta.

The family continued its annual tradition of meeting at the site of his death at 12:30 a.m. July 13, said Sgt. Dana Pierce, a spokesman for the department.
Because Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of his death, Ingram's family also celebrated his life with a memorial at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cobb County Department of Public Safety Training Center in Marietta.
