Cobb Police Search for 2 Suspects Who Robbed Burger King and Wells Fargo

Police have not released whether these two robberies may be related. South Cobb Patch will provide details as they become available.

UPDATE at 7:30 p.m.

Cobb Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob the Wells Fargobank at 5010 Floyd Road on Friday at 10:31 a.m.

Police said a man walked into the bank sucking a lollipop and handed a teller a note, which stated that he had a gun. He then demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.

Pierce said the suspect was last seen headed towards Joseph Club Drive. He is described as an African-American man, 5’9,” about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie shirt, a white t-shirt underneath, dark shorts, black and white sneakers and a hat with an Atlanta Falcons emblem on it.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Cobb police at (770) 499-3945.

Cobb Police are also investigating an armed robbery, which occurred at the at 809 Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton on Thursday at 8:01 p.m.

Police have not said whether these two crimes are related.

According to investigators, a masked male entered the Burger King and pulled out a handgun from the waistband of his pants.  While ordering everyone to the floor, he jumped the counter and emptied several of the cash drawers.  

Then the man fled from Burger King on foot towards the Waffle House parking lot where he was picked up by someone driving a dark colored Dodge Caliber.

Police said the man is African-American, “medium height and build,” around 20 to 30 years old and has a goatee. He was last seen wearing a Duke baseball cap with a gray bill, a white t-shirt and dark pants. Police told South Cobb Patch that detectives would have a full description later on Friday.
