According to preliminary information from Cobb police, on Thursday at 6 a.m., employees at Wendy’s at 185 South Service Road in Austell were serving customers when they saw a man armed with a handgun enter the restaurant.

The employees tried to flee out of a back door, but the armed man forced them back inside and demanded money from them.

Police investigators said a male employee was working at the tire store alone when two men pulled up to the store in a light brown Mitsubishi SUV.

The men then took cash from the victim before fleeing the scene in the SUV.
