Kenneth Leonard Keith, who is required to wear an ankle monitor, "admitted that he did take the charger apart and did tape the wires with the tape."

A registered sex offender from Austell has been arrested after he allegedly took apart the charger in his electronic monitoring device.

During an inspection of the charger, authorities Thursday "discovered that the charger had been taken apart and had what appeared to be black electrical tape wrapped around the wires," the officer wrote. "Accused admitted that he did take the charger apart and did tape the wires with the tape. Accused is currently out on bond for the same prior conduct."

Keith was arrested on a charge of removal or destruction of electronic monitoring devices. He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
