Austell Family Dollar Robbed

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money

A Family Dollar store on Six Flags Drive in Austell was robbed about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating the armed robbery.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the Family Dollar and demanded that the employees open the safe and cash register. He took an undisclosed amount of money and then ran away on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a:

black male, late 20’s-early 30’s, dark complexion, approximately 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs. He has a light moustache and a pronounced horizontal scar extending across his upper lip. He was last seen wearing a black heavy jacket with a brown fur lined hood. He was armed with a handgun
