Arrest Made in Kennesaw Road Rage Killing

An Austell woman has been charged with shooting a KSU student early Friday.

An Austell woman has been arrested by Cobb Police for the murder of a Kennesaw State University student in a road rage incident early Friday.

Lindsey Sparkles, 22, of Austell, is being held without bond in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after a warrant was issued for her arrest, Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said in a release this morning.

Sparkles has been charged with aggravated assault and murder in the shooting death of Kimberly Kilgore, 21, of Kennesaw on Friday.

According to police, Kilgore was found by officers shot in the parking lot of the Shiloh Green apartments on Walton Way in Kennesaw shortly after 2 a.m. Friday.

Kilgore died after being taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, according to police, who said Sparkles was taken into custody without incident.

The MDJ reported on Friday that two female motorists got into an altercation on Shiloh Road, and that the argument continued into the Shiloh Green parking lot.

The MDJ also reported that Kilgore formerly belonged to a KSU sorority.
