Another Austell Woman Dies in Crash

For the second time in a two-week period, an Austell woman dies after being involved in a car crash in Austell.

Cobb police, in conjunction with Austell police, are investigating a crash that left an Austell woman dead and a Powder Springs woman injured. This is the second fatal crash in two weeks to occur in Austell.

According to police, the crash occured around 2:30 p.m. on Monday when 42-year-old Adriane Coleman of Austell, crossed the center line while heading north on Austell-Powder Springs Road.

Adriane Coleman's 1994 Dodge Spirit collided with a 2010 Nissan Versa driven by 64-year-old Sylvia Coleman, who was traveling south. It is unknown why Adriane Coleman crossed into the opposite lane, according to police.

Adriane Coleman died from her injuries, while Sylvia Coleman was taken by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The two women are not related.
