$40,000 Worth of Nails Stolen in Austell

An Atlanta man is wanted on a charge of theft by taking.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Atlanta man who allegedly stole $40,000 worth of nails from the National Nail Corporation in Austell.

Morris Michael McCoy of the 200 block of Fairburn Road was allegedly captured on video stealing a semi tractor from the Georgia Farmers Market in Forest Park in January, according to the warrant, which was issued June 25.

From there, he went to the National Nail Corporation on Riverside Parkway and allegedly stole a mobile trailer containing about $40,000 worth of nails.

"McCoy is observed on video and still photography driving the Semi Unit into Rand Recycling and selling the contents of the trailer to Rand Recycling," according to the warrant. "McCoy was photographed and provided his Georgia drivers license and signature during the sale of the nails as scrap to Rand Recycling."

McCoy is wanted on a charge of theft by taking, a felony offense.
