Obituary: Margaret Hatcher, 92, Mableton

Mrs. Hatcher was a long-time member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Margarett Eloise Gibson Hatcher, 92, of Mableton died on Jan. 10. Born on Jan. 29, 1921 in College Park, she was a 1938 graduate of Atlanta’s Russell High School.

A long-time member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School class, she retired in 1982 from the Cobb County School System. 

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Thurmon J. Hatcher, survivors include son, Dan and wife Nanci Hatcher of Douglasville; daughter, Faye and husband Bill Fron of Cedartown; grandchildren Emily and Chad Black of Douglasville, Julie Holland of Statesboro, Brian and Suzanne Aultman of Savannah, Elizabeth and Jared Barfield of Charlotte, Barry and Landon Aultman of Pooler, Bill and Becky Fron of Cincinnati, David and Anna Fron of Birmingham; and 13 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Lani and Dylan Black; Madison Holland; Anna Leigh and Bryson Aultman; Hannah and Mason Barfield; Barry, Jr. and Lily Claire Aultman; Will and Drew Fron and Kate Fron. 

The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Gene Davis-White Columns Funeral Chapel. A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Smyrna.
