OBITS: Mueller and Cole Pass Away

Obituaries of people who lived in or were from South Cobb.

Tom Mueller, age 47 of Mableton, passed away May 5. He was born and raised in New Orleans. He loved gardening, fishing, and of course, the New Orleans Saints. For more than 24 years, he was employed with Century Trade Show Services.

He is survived by his wife, Cathleen Wallace Mueller; mother, Anita O’Keefe of Purvis, MS; children, Anthony Wallace, Cristy Mueller and Brittany Mueller, all of Mableton; grandson, Corbin Cox; sister, Ann Mueller Augustin of Dallas, TX; brothers, David Mueller of Decatur, AL, Melvin J. Mueller of Honolulu, HI and Albert Mueller of Covington, LA.

The funeral service to honor his life was held at on Saturday at 11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory in Austell, GA.

Gertrude Ingram Cole, age 88 of Austell, passed away Friday, May 11. She was a member of Doss Memorial Baptist Church and had retired from Coats and Clark after 40 years. She loved people, shopping and just enjoyed life.Β 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Cole; son, Taylor Cole and grandson, Kyle Crook. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Jim Snellgrove of Austell; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Thomas Jewell of Yulee, FL; son, Larry Cole of Hiram; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Cole was held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Davis-Struempf Chapel in Austell.
