Nona Belle Davenport Lowe, 94, Dies

Nona Belle Davenport Lowe, 94, of Mableton, formerly of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home surrounded by loved ones.

A resident of Mableton since 1979, Mrs. Lowe was born to Francis Davenport and Kate Wilcox Davenport on June 28, 1919 in LaFollette, Tennessee. She was one of seven children.

She later met and married James Lowe Jr. and they had five children together, William, Jimmy, Donnie, Johnny, and Ruth Ann. Their family later grew to include their precious grandchildren.

Mrs. Lowe was a beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her five children.

Nona Belle Davenport Lowe is preceded in death by her husband, James Lowe Jr. on May 28, 1978. She is also preceded by her three grandchildren, William Gene Lowe Jr., Jason Harmon Lowe, and Maxie Lynn Foley. Mrs. Lowe is survived by her sons, William G. Lowe, Jimmy D. Lowe, Donnie J. Lowe, and Johnny R. Lowe; daughter, Ruth Ann Beckner; granddaughters, Debra Lynn Heestand and Diana Lowe; brother, Frank Davenport Jr.; and sisters, Martha Jane Ferrell, Betty Ennis, Sally Chrest, Cindy Armstrong, and Deanna Cottrell.

A Memorial Service was held in Mrs. Lowe's honor on Saturday at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton with Chaplain Raymond Coffman officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. this Wednesday, July 24, at Montgomery Memorial Park in New London, West Virginia. Interment to follow.
