Marie Garner Cole Hobbs, 94, of Mableton passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at WellStar Community Hospice-Tranquility in Austell.
Marie was born to Milton and Jenny Garner on Feb. 20, 1919, in Rockmart, Ga..
She worked as a licensed Practical Nurse for Doctor's Memorial Hospital and continued giving loving nursing care for many years after her retirement.
Marie was a beloved member of First Baptist Church of Mableton.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles Floyd Cole; husband of 17 years, Garland Hobbs; and parents, Milton and Jenny Garner. Survivors include her daughter, Annette C. Meyer of Atlanta; son, Charles Cole and his wife Brenda of Concord, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Nathan, Stanton, Kim, Carla, Ruth, and Lisa; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 19, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at White Columns Chapel in Mableton. Pastor Stanton Charles Shirah will be officiating her services. Mike Anderson will be directing music. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Gardens in Mableton.
