Funeral for Curtis Ash Held Thursday in Austell

The funeral will be held at Austell's Trinity United Methodist Church.

Curtis Ash, age 80, was born to Eddie Ash and Beulah Alford Ash in Iron City, GA. He departed this life on April 27, 2012. He was known by several names including Curt, Ash, Reverend, Uncle, Daddy, and Daddy Ash. Some of his  passions were: playing the piano, playing tennis, and jogging.

In 1960, Ash married Emily Williams. The couple celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in December 2011. They had three children: Antwon (who preceded him in death), Kay, and Curwin and two goddaughters: Runette (who preceded him in death) and Kara.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his dedicated wife, Emily Williams Ash of Poolesville, MD; daughter, Kathea A. Ash-Green (Warren Green) of Austell, GA; son, Curwin Millian Ash of New York, NY; goddaughter, Kara Stevenson Ashe (Stephen Ashe) of Douglasville, GA; three grandchildren; four god-grandchildren; cousins; nephew, Ronald D. Ash (Juanita) of Denver, CO; niece, Marti J. Ash of Columbus, GA and several close friends.

The funeral service to honor his life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church (821 South Gordon Road, Austell) on Thursday, May 3, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jeffrey O’Neal and Rev. A.C. O’Neal officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 1 until 2 p.m. Final onterment will be in Elijah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Poolesville, MD.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to . Interment entrusted to Devol Funeral Home in Gaithersburg, MD.
