ALPHIN

Peggy Fincher Alphin, age 85, of Mableton, passed away on July 5. She was born in North Carolina on March 24, 1926 to Eugene and Ida Fincher. After attending some college, Peggy worked as a secretary for AZS Chemical Company and retired after 28 years of dedicated service. She was also a member of Vinings Lake Baptist Church for many years.
Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Trent Haskin Alphin in 2002 and her parents. Survivors include her son, Bobby Warren Johnson of Mableton; sister, Virginia Doherty of Hapeville; other family members including Susan Pike, Jimmy Milam, Kenny Alphin, Al Henry Alphin, Bet Alphin, Bob Lee Alphin, Phillip Patrick, Lance Ferguson, Daniel Ferguson, Angelia Harrod, Shannon Sword, Andrea Whitaker, Terri Madden, Claudia Hickie, Zane Hickie, Steve Fincher, Terry Fincher and many other beloved family members.
The family received friends on July 7 at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton with a service held in the chapel on July 8 with Rev. Laurence Liens and Rev. Pete Hixson officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton.

VARNER

Betty L. Varner, 77, of Mableton passed away Thursday, July 14. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace M. Varner, and son, Tommy Varner. Betty was a member of Pebblebrook Baptist Church and retired from Cobb County School System as a bus driver after 28 years of service. She is survived by daughters, Ty Jones of Powder Springs, El Veda Bennett of Brunswick, La Vona Wilson of Kennesaw; son, Robert Varner of Douglasville; brother, Billy Joe Hesson of Ashland City, Tenn.; Sister, Linda Faye Ray of Hartville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Norma George, Kaylee Allen, Ryan Allen, Josh Bennett, Dana Fortier, Kristin Williford, Andrew Jones, and Rachel Jones; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday 2 p.m. at Pebblebrook Baptist Church with Frank Peace officiating. Interment will be held immediately following at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wellstar Community Hospice/Tranquility, 4040 Hospital West Drive in Austell.

BANDY

Robert T. Bandy of Austell passed away Wednesday, July 13, at the age of 90. Bob served with the United States Marine Corps in World War II. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and retired from Southern Drug where he was a traveling salesman. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frankie Williams Bandy; son, Douglas Bandy of Macon; daughter, Pamela Bandy Patterson of Hiram; grand-daughters, Kayla Patterson, Karly Gibbs, Jana Bandy, and Shannon Bandy and great grand-daughter, Taygan McGurdy. Rev. Bryan Alexander officiating.
Visitations will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Sweetwater Baptist Church on Friday. Cemetery: Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery, 2308 Sweetwater Church Road in Douglasville.

MOSTELLER

Betty Ann Mosteller, age 84, of Mableton, passed away July 9. She was of the Baptist faith, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James W. β€œJimmy” Mosteller; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Short Allen of Mableton; grandchildren, Melissa Williams, Christi and Matt Thomason, and Ryan and Hayley Allen; great-grandchildren, Drew and Lindsey Allen and Tanner Thomason. Funeral services were held July 11 at Davis-Struempf Chapel, with Chaplain David Stringer officiating. Interment was in Mozley Memorial Gardens. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Altus Hospice.

NEISLER

Alice Christopher Neisler, of Johns Creek, formerly of Austell, passed away July 7 at the age of 86. Alice graduated from Milton High School in 1944. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Austell, and retired from Equifax in Atlanta, after a long career. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Neisler; brother, John Christopher; and sisters, Elmira Poss and Ester Poss. Alice is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Doug & Roxie Neisler of Johns Creek, Charles & Kathy Neisler of Savannah, and Arthur Neisler of Valdosta; brother, Larry Christopher of Norcross; sister, Doris Ellis of Cumming; grandchildren, Stephen, Jonathon, Ashley, Leslie, Chloe; and her great grandson, Trenton and great granddaughter, Elissa Marie Neisler. Funeral service was held on July 9 at Calvary Baptist Church in Austell. Rev. Bill Rorie and Rev. Chris Humphries officiated. Interment followed at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
