David B. Cook, Pebblebrook High Alum, Passes Away at 53

Cook's funeral will be held Thursday.

David B. Cook, age 53, of Powder Springs passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2011.

David was born to Wendell Holmes Cook and Edna Mae Worley Cook in Macon, on Dec. 5, 1957. After growing up with his sister, Margi, David graduated from in 1976.

David was a man who enjoyed many things in life including archery, the outdoors, playing his guitar, and working on cars. He was a resident of Cobb County since 1972 and married the love of his life, Candace Cunningham. They raised four beautiful children, James, Sean, Sarah, and Jennifer. David worked as a mechanic at Contractor's Tire since 2001 and was a member of . David will be missed by everyone, but his memory will live on through the lives that he touched.

David is preceded in death by his father, Wendell Cook. Survivors include his wife, Candace Cook of Powder Springs; sons, James and Sean Cook of Powder Springs; daughters, Sarah and Jennifer Cook of Mableton; grandson, Steven Dombrowski of Mableton; mother, Edna Goldsborough of Mableton; sister, Margi Kelley of Walahalla, South Carolina; and stepmother, Betty Ann Cook of Hiram.

The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at in Mableton with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 in the chapel with Dr. J. Randall Whitten officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Baptist Churchyard in Mableton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cook Family Fund.
