Riverside parents and children participate in Georgia Walk To School Day

On Friday, March 8th, 2013, a group of Riverside parents participated in Georgia Walk to school day with their Children. Georgia Walk to school day is observed statewide on the First Wednesday in March. due to the freezing weather on Wednesday, the group decided to do it the following Friday. Walk to School day is an initiative promoted by Safe Routes to School, to promote pedistrian safety, physical activity and using alternative routes to school.  Parents and children met at the Shell Gas Station on the corner of South Gordan and Factory Shoals in Mableton Georgia and walk to Riverside Primary and Riverside Intermediate. Parents who participated were from the Six Flags Drive area and HillCrest Estates Subdivision. Thank you to Captain Jeff Adcock with Cobb County Police Department for assisting wth the walk.
