Teen Dies from Crash Injuries

A two-vehicle crash Saturday evening on Trickum Road near its intersection with Netherstone Drive killed one person and injured three others.

According to a news release from the , a blue 2006 Volvo S40 driven by 18-year-old Ryan Aschenbach of , was traveling north on Trickum Road. Aschenbach lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the double yellow lines and entered the southbound travel lane, where the Volvo collided with a gold 1998 Lexus GS400, driven by 52-year-old Joanne Green of Roswell.

Smyrna Businessman Seeks Help Recovering Stolen Trailer

A Smyrna business owner needs help recovering a stolen trailer loaded with thousands of dollars of equipment.

Ryan Byers, owner of Step It Up Fitness, said he was towing a trailer loaded with equipment behind his RV after his daughter’s softball game around midnight on Saturday, June 30.

When Byers crossed the intersection of Concord Road and Hicks Road, he said the trailer became unhitched from the RV. Byers said he and his daughter noticed the trailer was gone about five minutes later and turned back to retrieve it. As they pulled to the intersection they saw a silver and white Toyota FJ Cruiser driving away with their trailer.


Good Samaritan Tied Up in Own Apartment

A man was the victim of a strange robbery and kidnapping early Tuesday morning in Midtown.

According to Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones, the victim told authorities that around 5 a.m., he was approached by a homeless man at the at the intersection of 10th and Spring streets.

The beggar asked for food and when the victim bought some and attempted to give it to him, the homeless man pulled out a handgun and got in the car. The suspect then forced the man to drive to his 12th Street West Apartments home.
