Time is now for 8th Grade students

Middle school students will need to soon make a career education choice if the Career Academy becomes reality by the time they are in high school. Their challenge is, Cobb schools have not as of yet established the set of career courses that may be offered or where across the system they will be offered.

The key to Georgia’s future economic growth rests squarely on our ability to deliver a highly educated, skilled and motivated workforce among students in our Career Academy. When operational, it will offer a college-preparatory curriculum and career–focused education in different fields. Students also have the opportunity to visit local business and “shadow” business professionals as interns in various career areas.

It is an important alternative for those students who desire a rewarding career that does not necessarily require an advanced or college education.  Principals, Area Superintendents and members of the school board are the place to begin requesting guidance for career education options.
