Of the 20 fastest growing occupations projected for the next decade, 15 of them will require substantial science or math preparation. The challenge for Atlanta area parents is to ensure that all students develop an appreciation for and mastery of science subjects and to convince our school boards and elected officials to prioritize STEM education. While lapses in ethical behavior and funding priorities command the media and our attention, the answer to the question is, yes.
