Newcomers Win Austell Votes

Two city council seats are contested in Tuesday's elections

Update, Tuesday, Nov. 5, 10:30 p.m.:

At 10:30 p.m. Tuesday will all precincts reporting, challengers Ollie Clemons Jr and Randy Green had taken the lead over city council incumbents Trudie Causey and Martin Standard, for Post 1 At Large and Ward 3, respectively.

Clemons had 70.26 of the vote, with Causey with 25.47 percent and Djonis with 4.27.

Green had 48.96 percent, with Standard and Turner each netting 25.52.

Two Austell city council members face challengers in today's election.

Incumbent Trudie Causey - City Council, At Large - Post 1 - faces Ollie Clemons, Jr. and Chris Djonis, while City Council Ward 3 Member Martin Standard faces Randy P. Green and Ann F. Turner.

City Council Ward 1 incumbent Kirsten Anderson is uncontested.

Polls close at 7 p.m. tonight. Election results will be posted after 7:30 p.m. on the Cobb County Board of Elections website.
