Whitefield Names Interim Headmaster

Kevin Bracher has been an integral member of the Whitefield Academy leadership team for six years and will serve in this role until a new headmaster is selected.

The board of trustees of Whitefield Academy announced today Dr. Kevin Bracher, current academic dean, as interim headmaster of Whitefield Academy.

Bracher has been an integral member of the Whitefield Academy leadership team for six years and will serve in this role until a new headmaster is selected.

“Kevin’s leadership at Whitefield Academy has been exemplary and we are confident in his ability to head our school during this time of transition,” said Marsha Burke, chair of the board of trustees.

After leading Whitefield Academy for five years, Dr. John Lindsell, headmaster, recently tendered his resignation to the board of trustees.

“Dr. Lindsell and his wife, Stephanie, welcomed another grandchild last month and he would like to pursue professional opportunities that would allow them to relocate to be near their growing family at this important time in their lives,” Burke said. Under Lindsell’s leadership, Whitefield Academy has had many important achievements, some of which include:

The completion of a successful capital campaign in a very challenging financial environment;

The construction and occupation of Morris Hall, Whitefield Academy’s new state-of-the-art Upper School, which provided permanent facilities for both Middle School and Upper School.

Academic success which has led to Whitefield Academy students having the highest SAT scores in Cobb County; and
A successful recent dual reaccreditation by SAIS/SACS.

Burke continued, “The Whitefield Academy community is particularly indebted to Dr. Lindsell for shepherding us through a difficult economic time and recruiting and promoting several outstanding staff members who are tremendous assets to Whitefield Academy. We pray God’s blessings on him and Stephanie as they begin their next chapter.”

Whitefield Academy is a Christ-centered college preparatory school for grades PreK-4 to 12. Whitefield Academy exists to bolster Christian families in rearing young people who go on to college and life with a passion for learning, for others ahead of self, and for the living and active Jesus. Please encourage residents to attend CCt flex bus meeting at the South Cobb Library on Tuesday JuneRead More 18t 6pm-8pm. The first meeting only had 11 residents there and none were bus riders. I have encouraged residents that have teens to attend meeting because this help our teens get to jobs or social activities and not just hang out in the neighborhood. We must also plan for the future and underswtrand that just because you are driving today, it may not be the case all the time. Your situation can change with a blink of an eye.
