Pedestrian Hit and Killed on Floyd Road

John Kelly was attempting to cross Floyd Road when the driver of a maroon 2004 Honda Accord struck him while traveling southbound.

A pedestrian was killed this morning by a car traveling on Floyd Road.

The accident, which occurred at Floyd Road and White Boulevard, happened as the pedestrian, John W. Kelly, 29, of Mableton, was attempting to cross the road. It was not at a designated crosswalk.

Kelly was struck by a maroon 2004 Honda Accord traveling southbound.Β

Kelly died at the scene.

The driver of the Honda has been identified as 30-year-old Jason C. Bentley of Atlanta. He was not injured in the crash.

Although this collision is still being investigated, the driver of the Honda is not expected to be charged.
