What I don't like since I moved up here is the low regard for life. Every week someone is getting hit because " they were not in a crosswalk" " They were against the light. In clayco we don't try to teach people lessons we regard human life first.

Believe it or not, streets were built for cars. If you want to cross a road on foot, be careful. Use a legal crosswalk if there is one there. Everyday I see someone trying to cross a busy highway just feet from an intersection. Yesterday, on South Cobb Drive where Kroger is, a guy decides to cross the road (100 feet from the intersection). He got to the middle lane and nearly got hit when a car came speeding up to try and make the turn light. On Austell Road on Saturday, a woman with three little kids was trying to cross just about 100 feet from an intersection. She and the kids make it to the center lane and are just standing there waiting for the cars to get by. Granted, maybe the cars should have stopped and let her go, but you probably would have had some accidents at that point. People just don't use the good sense they were hopefully born with.

I agree, Pam J. South Cobb Drive is like an obstacle course sometimes with all the people trying to run across. It's like they're almost daring drivers to hit them. They not only put themselves in danger but also the drivers. Drivers look for pedestrians AT CROSSWALKS when we're stopped but not in the middle of the road when we're driving fast.
