Wheeler Band Booster Charged With Theft 

For the second time in three years, an officer in a Wheeler High School booster club has been charged with stealing substantial amounts of money from a student extracurricular organization.

The Marietta Daily Journal reported Saturday that Dawn Brown Martin, vice president of Bingo activities for the Wheeler Wildcat Pride marching band, is accused of taking more than $40,000 in band funds from January to October of 2012. Read more on East Cobb.

Cash, Gaming Systems Stolen From Lilburn Pub

Cash and thousands of dollars worth of gaming systems were reported stolen in a burglary at Bailen's Pub in Lilburn.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the bar, which is located at 865 Indian Trail Road, was broken into by someone smashing the front door. Read more on Lilburn-Mountain Park Patch.

Sex Trafficking Arrests Made 

The DeKalb County Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (I.C.A.C.) unit has announced the arrests of two men resulting from an investigation into the trafficking of juveniles for sexual servitude. 

A statement from DeKalb Police Headquarters in Tucker, issued by spokesperson Mekka Parish, said Kamau Benjamin, 28, and Anthony Means, 22, were apprehended on Wednesday, Jan. 30 when officers executed a search warrant at 3214 Valley Bluff Drive in Doraville. Both men are charged with Trafficking Persons for Sexual Servitude, Rape, Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute and False Imprisonment. Read more on Tucker Patch.

Please encourage residents to attend CCt flex bus meeting at the South Cobb Library on Tuesday JuneRead More 18t 6pm-8pm. The first meeting only had 11 residents there and none were bus riders. I have encouraged residents that have teens to attend meeting because this help our teens get to jobs or social activities and not just hang out in the neighborhood. We must also plan for the future and underswtrand that just because you are driving today, it may not be the case all the time. Your situation can change with a blink of an eye.
