Macy's Tree Is From Mableton

Macy’s gift to the City of Atlanta, the Georgia White Pine, is approximately 35 years old and weighs 14,000 pounds.

Atlanta’s most recognized Christmas tree will be cut in Mableton and transported to Macy’s at Lenox Square in preparation for the 65th Annual Great Tree Lighting.

Macy’s gift to the City of Atlanta, the Georgia White Pine, is approximately 35 years old and weighs 14,000 pounds.

The tree will be leaving Mableton at 10 a.m. Thursday. A tree felling and trucking crew will prepare the tree for transport to Lenox Square.

The white pine will be placed on the roof of Macy’s at 10 a.m. Sunday.  As one of Atlanta’s most beloved traditions, the Great Tree Lighting will be held on Thursday, November 22, Thanksgiving night.

The Lighting of the Macy’s Great Tree celebration promises to be a memorable one, with Trace Adkins, Chris Mann and Cymphonique Miller as well as the Macy’s All-Star Choir taking the stage.  The pre-show kicks off the evening with behind the scenes interviews and special performances at 6:15 PM.  

The Macy’s Great Tree Lighting Show will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  It will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks finale – the perfect way to usher in the holiday season.

Please encourage residents to attend CCt flex bus meeting at the South Cobb Library on Tuesday JuneRead More 18t 6pm-8pm. The first meeting only had 11 residents there and none were bus riders. I have encouraged residents that have teens to attend meeting because this help our teens get to jobs or social activities and not just hang out in the neighborhood. We must also plan for the future and underswtrand that just because you are driving today, it may not be the case all the time. Your situation can change with a blink of an eye.
