Grace Hayes Adair, 90, of Austell Dies

She had retired from Rich's Cobb Center Store where she worked for 25 years fitting children's shoes.

Mrs. Grace Hayes Adair, age 90, of Austell passed away on Tuesday,
February 19, 2013 at Wellstar Community Hospice/Tranquility in
Austell.

She was born to Otis Monroe Hayes and Martha Elizabeth Smith Hayes on
February 10, 1923 in Aragon, Georgia. She was one of six children.

Mrs. Adair was married to Johnnie Howell Adair and had two beautiful
children, Janice and Thomas. Their family later grew to include five
grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren
were the greatest joy in her life.

She had retired from Rich's Cobb Center Store where she worked for 25
years fitting children's shoes. She was a member of Holly Springs
Baptist Church in Paulding County and in recent years had faithfully
attended Ewing Road Baptist Church in Austell. She was an active
member of the Generations Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Adair is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Martha Hayes;
husband, Johnnie Howell "Hal" Adair; brothers, Edward, Carl, Harlet,
Howell, and Lowell Hayes. She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Adair
(Brenda) of Quitman, MS; daughter, Janice Adair Waldrop of Austell;
grandchildren, Jeff Adair (Jamie) of Rockmart, Christopher Adair (Dee)
of Clayton, NC, Julianne Adair Cross (Brian) of Rome, Elizabeth
"Libby" Waldrop Palmer (Thomas) of Chattanooga, TN, Allison Waldrop
Johnson (Willie) of Atlanta; sister, Mrs. Mildred Miller of Pell City,
AL; sister in law, Violet Adair of Hiram; former daughter in law,
Julianne Smith Adair Owens of Rockmart; great-grandchildren, Victoria,
Cole, Ryder,a nd Noah Adair all of Rockmart, Patrick and Anna Grace
Adair of Clayton, NC, Grant and Camille Cross of Rome, Sam and Grey
Palmer of Chattanooga, TN, and Natalie and Jack Johnson of Atlanta;
and a number of loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, February
21, 2013 at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton. Funeral Services
will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 22, 2013 in the funeral
home's chapel with Reverend Jeff Daxon and Alan Roper officiating.
Grandsons, grandsons in law, and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in
Paulding County with Reverend Carlton Duke officiating. Condolences
