Get a Job Makeover Then Nab a Job

As part of AOL Jobs Week, which begins on Oct. 3, AOL is launching Job Search Makeovers. Job seekers will have a chance to submit their job search stories s part of AOL Jobs Week’s Job Search Makeover contest, which is featured on AOL.com. The Grand Prize winner, selected by a combination of public voting and AOL Jobs editors, will receive job search counseling from CareerBuilder, a new job-search outfit and a laptop to help them get a jumpstart on their search.

The contest is live today on aol.com/jobsweek. And be sure to share with your friends and family in need of a job search boost. (Tweet it will create: "Share your job search story with @aoljobs for a chance to win a laptop & @careerbuilder job search help.") Also, send your thoughts to @aoljobs.

October Haunt After Hours at Six Flags Over Georgia on Oct. 25

The Cobb Chamber of Commerce and the South Cobb Business Association are bringing another massive after-hours event to Cobb County, following the success of the Cobb Summer J.A.M. (Joint Association Meeting.) The event is being sponsored by Patch, and will run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The following business associations will be in attendance: Acworth Business Assocation, Austell Business Association, East Cobb Business Association, Kennesaw Business Association, Mableton Business Exchange, Marietta, Northeast Cobb, Paulding, Powder Springs, Smyrna, Vinings and West Cobb business associations.

Select rides, including the Goliath and Dare Devil, will be open during the event. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Bullock Help House and Wellspring Living. This is a private party, so attendees will need to pay $10 each to be admitted.

Small Business Seminars

First Citizens Bank & JMK Associates LLC are conducting a series of 10 seminars for small businesses, 10 employees or less, at the Dogwood Country Club at 4207 Flint Hill Road in Austell at 7:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast is served at each session, and the next one will be held on Oct. 12 and will focus on government issues each small business faces.
