ATLANTA-BASED ELTON JOHN TRIBUTE ARTIST RETURNS HOME

Atlanta-based, nationally acclaimed Elton John tribute artist Craig A Meyer, returning home from a ten-month, nationwide tour in locales from Niagara Falls to Honolulu, announces his ultimate concert of the season, an end of summer blowout to be held September 7 at the Mable House Barnes Theater in Cobb County, where he resides.

With his seven-piece Rocket Band, Meyer, a/k/a Almost Elton John, promises to take the hometown crowd on a spectacular musical journey, celebrating decades of chart topping hits by Sir Elton John, including “Benny and the Jets,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” and “Crocodile Rock.” The dynamic, local favorite 70s/80s cover band, Yacht Rock Schooner, will open.

Founder of the Mareitta-based Meyer Vocal Workshop, Craig A Meyer has traversed all four corners of the entertainment industry, collecting credits and making a mark in theatre, film, television and music.

Credits include: Broadway: Meet Me In St Louis, Cats, Starlight Express, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Atlanta Theatre: Jacques Brel…(Alliance Theatre/Suzi Bass Awards), Forever Plaid (Atlanta Lyric Theatre), The Snail in A Year With Frog & Toad (Synchronicity) and Sir Evelyn Oakleigh in Anything Goes (Atlanta Lyric Theatre).  Concert tours include Barry Manilow and Frankie Valli.

Meyer worked with Alan Menken on Disney’s Aladdin, and with Tim Rice and Elton John on The Lion King. Television and film appearances include guest-starring roles on “Necessary Roughness,” “Will & Grace,” “Good Morning Miami,” “Family Law,” and “General Hospital.” Film credits include Leatherheads, Joyful Noise and Identity Thief with Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy.

Today, Meyer is considered to be the best Elton John tribute artist in the market. His strong vocals, striking resemblance and amazing talent on the piano have audiences everywhere remembering when rock was young.

A celebration of the character, costumes and charisma of the famed pianist and singer, Meyer’s fully produced show has captivated audiences throughout the United States and abroad, and now, area residents can enjoy the spectacle. Tickets on sale NOW at www.ticketmaster.com.

Please encourage residents to attend CCt flex bus meeting at the South Cobb Library on Tuesday JuneRead More 18t 6pm-8pm. The first meeting only had 11 residents there and none were bus riders. I have encouraged residents that have teens to attend meeting because this help our teens get to jobs or social activities and not just hang out in the neighborhood. We must also plan for the future and underswtrand that just because you are driving today, it may not be the case all the time. Your situation can change with a blink of an eye.
