Youth Football/Cheerleading Registration, Local Students' Art Viewing & Free Kids' Meals

Get discounted fees by registering early for South Cobb youth programs or discuss your favorite books at the South Cobb Library.

Patch has done the research and here are this week's picks for great things to do with the kids.

SOUTH COBB RAVENS
Where/When: , Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 8, 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Why Go: Early registration for the South Cobb Ravens football and cheerleading programs. These programs were created by the South Cobb Raven Association and are designed to instill core values into local youth participants. Each football and cheerleading program will be headed by a professional coaching staff and each child will have the opportunity to actively participate no matter their skill, experience or size.
Pricing: Early registration for football until April 1, is $150 per child. Early registration for cheerleading until March 31, is $300.

BOOK DISCUSSIONS WITH MRS. MARKS
Where/When: , Wednesdays from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Why Go: Stop by and discuss books you or your kid’s are reading and get recommendations for other great books. Call Mrs. Marks at 678-398-5828 for further information.
Pricing: Free

BUILDING PROJECTS FOR KIDS
Where/When: , March 12, 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Why Go: Kids building workshops. The workshop includes a work apron, goggles, project patch and certificate of completion.
Pricing: Free

FREE KIDS MEALS
Where/When: , each day from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Why Go: One free kid’s meal for every adult meal purchased.
Pricing: Free meal for kid’s 12 and under.

VIEW ART CREATED BY LOCAL STUDENTS
Where/When: High Museum of Art, now through March 24, 2011.
Why Go: Alongside great works of art by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec will be works of art by local students residing in Mableton and surrounding areas. Artwork from students in grades K through 12 is being displayed as part of the new affiliate program entered into between the High Museum and local schools.
Pricing: Free for members and children under 5. Tickets for children ages 6 to 17 are $11 each. Adult ticket pricing is $18. Seniors and students are $15 per ticket. March is college month however, and tickets are $5 with college ID.
