Community Corner

United we stand to fight the recession...

Are you aware of the assets that are available to you?

Hello Mableton and Austell.

I wanted to  make sure you were aware of another wonderful networking meeting in our midst. I am currently the president of the Mableton Business Exchange, which offers networking to Mableton’s businesses and those of surrounding areas. We are also a proud participant and member of the South Cobb Business Association  headed up by the powerhouse of our own, Wayne Dodd. We are also a part of a mutual partnership with the Austell Fellowship Luncheon.

Austell Fellowship Luncheon (AFL) is a group of business professionals who meet on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of each month at noon to network. Hear a businesswoman share her inspiring story in business, and be introduced to “the featured business of the week.”

The luncheon lasts one hour, but guests tend to remain for an hour or more afterwards meeting new people, promoting their business or services, or following up with the keynote speaker or featured business-of-the-week presenter for more information and possible follow-up opportunities.

The AFL is open to the public. There are no dues or membership fees, and you will never be solicited for money or to join any business, marketing scheme or other obligation—it’s all about meeting people and networking your business or job skills.

This Past Year . . .

The Austell Fellowship Luncheon (AFL) has hosted some significant guest speakers including the president of the World Chamber of Commerce and Consulate General of the Czech Republic George A. Novak, the newly elected Georgia Commissioner of Insurance Ralph T. Hudgens, former White House SBA Advocate (under both President George W. Bush and President Barack H. Obama) Patrick M. Gartland, author of “Great Men Bow Down” Gordon Lawrence. They also had eight-time world record holder ultra distance runner Stanley W. Cottrell Jr., who ran the entire distance of the Great Wall of China, is author of “No Mountain too High,” and featured in the movie “Fire and Jade."

Also we want to invite Mableton and Austell out to the Mableton Business Exchange luncheon on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at where Lt. James Bullock will be coming to talk with our local businesses about some new fraud and crime that has come into the area affecting businesses. Better to stay informed, connected and communicated on what is your most precious asset. Come out and meet new people and create a platform for a new tomorrow.
