  • Parents and community members are invited to meet with the Cobb County Schools superintendent finalist, Dr. Michael Hinojosa at at 5265 Ward St. S.E. in Smyrna from 3:45 to 4:30, when he will hold a news conference.
  • This week the Cobb Board of Commissioners will vote to approve the design/build contract with Choate Construction Company, Inc. for the new Austell senior center. On the BOC’s consent agenda is the approval of partial funding for the approved construction contract with Shea-Taylor of the South Cobb Tunnel. The regular meeting will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta.
  • We know it's graduation season, and there are plenty of proud parents here in South Cobb. I saw a good many of you at Party City stocking up for the graduation parties this weekend. So, send us your graduation photos! We want to post them here at South Cobb Patch because we're proud of them, too!
  • We still want your feedback. Take this survey and tell us what you want to see in South Cobb Patch as we revamp our standing features and possibly add more columnists!
  • The Mableton Business Exchange will hold its regular Wednesday networking breakfast at MJ LMMNZ at 8:30 a.m. for the last time. MJ LMMNZ will close its doors for good at the end of the month.
  • Also on Wednesday, from 8 until 2 p.m., the They will be meeting and greeting soldiers going to and coming from various war zones. Any inquiries from the pubic can be directed to the post at 770-944-8099. Donations of money or food to keep our program going. All donations can be delivered to our Post at 6251 Ivey Road in Mableton. Thank you in advance. Volunteers are still needed to greet the soldiers next Wednesday, so if you want to be a part of this event, just come out and ask for the USO once you get to the airport.
