Soldiers Receive Warm Welcome from Mableton Legion Post 264 Members

American Legion Post 264 in Mableton greet soldiers coming in from and leaving for deployment at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Six volunteers from American Legion Post 264 and its auxillary in Mableton arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport early Wednesday morning, ready to greet and support soldiers coming in from and leaving for deployment.

Along with offering a free meal and snacks, the excited volunteers greeted soldiers and veterans with cheers, chapping and general assistance. The post members even escorted soldiers to there departure gates, encouraging bystanders to chap and cheer as they passed.

American Legion Post 264 member, Tony Bennett, said that they plan to schedule another visit on May 25.

Post 264 in Mableton extends an open invite to the community to join them in their bingo games every week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 5 p.m. The bingo games offer cash prize giveaways to participants and money the post earns goes right back into events like Wednesday's airport greeting, aimed at supporting troops and veterans.Β
