Six Flags Supervisor Wins $1M in Georgia Lotto

He plans to use the money to pay off bills and invest in his daughter's college fund.

Matthew Starks Jr., a 57-year-old Six Flags Over Georgia supervisor, won $1 million in the Sept. 7 Georgia Lottery Powerball drawing.

Although Starks matched the drawing's first five winning numbers and not the Powerball, he still took home the game's second prize. He increased his prize from $200,000 to $1 million by selecting the Power Play option for $1.

He bought his winning ticket in Lithonia, where he resides.

“I won $35 from the Mega Millions drawing and used some of that to buy this ticket,” he said. “I’ll be paying off bills and helping my daughter through college,” he exclaimed.

Starks shared the good news with his wife, Wanda, on her birthday Tuesday.
