Run for Hunger, listen to original music or bike the Silver Comet Trail

Help raise money for C.A.M.P. to fight hunger or enjoy the beauty of the Silver Comet Trail to help any work week stress melt away.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

NINTH ANNUAL SPRING CHICKEN RUN
Where/When: , March 26 starting at 8:30 a.m.
Why Go: Ninth annual race against hunger to benefit C.A.M.P., which stands for Christian Aid Mission Partnership. There are several runs to choose from, including a 5K race, one mile fun run, one mile “spirit walk” and a tot trot.
Pricing: 5K, $20 pre-registration, $25 the day of the race; one mile fun run, $15; spirit walk, requires a minimum of $20 in pledges; tot trot, free.

EASY LISTENING
Where/When: Stella’s Neighborhood Grill, March 26 starting at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Come and listen to Brandon Clark &  the American Standard band. The group plays original music in the style of soft rock and folk. Great way to wind down at the end of the work week.
Pricing: Free admission. Food and drink prices vary.

TAKE A RIDE ON THE SILVER COMET TRAIL
Where/When: SCD Cycles, every weekend.
Why Go: SCD Cycles offers great discounts on bike rentals so customers can “go mobile” and enjoy the beauty of the Silver Comet Trail.
Pricing: Adult and youth bikes as well as child trailers are $10 per hour each or $50 for a full 24 hour rental. Check their website for specialty bike rentals.

CONCERTS, COFFEE AND ARCADES
Where/When: , March 25 starting at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Why Go: The 7 Venue is a renovated movie theater that is now a Christian music concert venue with two stages, an arcade and a cafe`/coffee house with free wireless internet. All ages are welcome. On March 25, The SmartPunk Tour will be performing. See the venue website for more upcoming events.
Pricing: $14 for The SmartPunk Tour.

LIVE MUSIC AND COLD BEER
Where/When: Twisted Taco in Smyrna, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy free live music on the weekend and $3 Dos Equis pints all day every day. On Thursdays, try the $5 Absolute martini special available all day.
Pricing: Free music. Food and drink pricing varies.
