POLL: Should Apartment Complexes on Six Flags Drive Be Demolished?

The South Cobb Redevelopment has proposed demolishing three low-vacancy apartment complexes along Six Flags Drive.

It's no secret that the apartment complexes along Six Flags Drive are not in the best shape. Most of the apartment complexes there have high vacancy rates, and many of them have high crime rates as well.

Tearing down the apartment complexes would help the area in a variety of ways. However, what exactly should be done once they are torn down?

My actual answer for #2 wasn't any option. Yes, I think the apartments should be demolished. and I think there should be a plan for where the people living there can go. Six Flags Drive is a stretch that needs to dealt with immediately (in my opinion). The Six Flags amusement park brings income into the area and it would be great if the area surrounding the park could be refaced as to help bring more money in to our community.

Yes the apartments should be demolished. The area is a slum rampant with crime and drugs. The hotels are poorly kept and drive away tourism, read the reviews for six flags Dr hotels... It would be fantastic if six flags park would take a Disney approach and help revitalize the area..

Facebook reply from Joe Andreska: "yes--if they can't be properly maintained I think it is time for them to go. It is a heavy crime area--there have been multiple fires, it seems like an area that does not get the police enforcement it needs....it is just too many bad complexes too close together..."

Yes, definitely. The area would gain a whole lot more then it would loose. They're filled with violence, drugs and crime. If there was a way to team up with six flags somehow I'm sure the possibilities are endless as to what you could replace them with. Hotels, shopping centers, and attractions. Heck, maybe even a small park or something of the sort. How many more people do you think will want to visit six flags dr. Let alone six flags if they knew there was a park or any other of the mentioned above? Either way demolishing these complexes will bring a big change to the area.
