Mexico Lindo Recognized by Mableton Community

Mableton names Mexico Lindo the Business Of The Year.

Mableton has chosen its business of the year and that business is Mexico Lindo. Ulises Echeverry brought us the restaurant 20 years ago. Now it stands as a local treasure to Mableton’s landscape. Ulises has since retired and passed the magic spoon of success on to his son, Christian. I brought my concept of the Mableton Business Exchange to Christian last July and formally met this man with sparkles in his eyes. He immediately said, “Yes, anything to help the community of Mableton.”

Since then I have been in the front seat getting to know the family and seeing them in action. Christian and his father are often seen in the restaurant welcoming and serving the patrons with hugs galore. They are always nice and friendly, dispensing thank yous from the heart. For our Christmas after-hours event to raise money and collect toys for Family Life Restoration, Christian sent his crew out with awesome taquitos and helped to make our efforts that much better all at no cost.

If you drive by the restaurant, you will see fundraisers and activities that he sponsors on a regular basis to help anything from schools to lukemia lymphoma research efforts.

South Cobb Business Association President Wayne Dodd, a friend of the family for 20 years, said, “They are a much deserved recipient of this award. Consistently they support Mableton in every way. South Cobb’s been very blessed over the years to have them here.”

I was with a party of six at the restaurant back in January. There was a young lady with us who was here from Africa to get some help with a permanent disfigurement of one of her feet. We all ordered different things on the menu, and we all kind of made a plate of samples so she could try all the cuisine for the very first time. She ate the food and enjoyed it. Then suddenly Christian was making his rounds to all the tables and he discovered that it was her birthday. He disappeared, and reappeared with a birthday creation just for her. Her face lit up with surprise and she hugged his neck.

Christian, you are truly a ambassador of love and fellowship. If you haven’t been to Mexico Lindo to try the new selections on the menu lately, then this is your invitation. Don't forget to give a quick congratulations to Christian while you are there. Thank you Mexico Lindo for all you do.
