Mableton Teen Nabs First Place in Mableton Day 5K

South Cobb Patch wants to congratulate Jo O'Brien for placing first!

To kick off today's annual Mableton Community Day festivities, approximately 150 people from all over the Metro Atlanta area came out to run in the inaugural Mableton Day 5K Race.

Mableton's own Jo O'Brien, won first place in the female, ages 14 to 19 division. She finished in 31 minutes and 42 seconds.

The 17-year-old Harrison High School junior runs track and field as well as cross-country for her school team, and it appears she's a natural.

"This year's my first year. It's my favorite sport that I've ever done. When I switched schools, I started it," Jo said. "I run with my friends."
