Mableton Jammed and Rocked Saturday at the Mable House Complex

Hundreds attended the annual storytelling festival on Saturday at the Mable House and then several people attended the Mableton Rocks! event that evening at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre.

Hundreds of children and their parents spent Saturday in Mableton brushing live goats and petting pot-bellied pigs, listening to stories from local storytellers in period costumes, making their own butter and jamming to a local bluegrass group.

They all came out for the South Cobb Arts Alliance's annual storytelling festival, which took place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The South Cobb Lions Club sold barbecue, vegetables and desserts and gave free "hay" rides as well.

Just as the storytelling festival came to an end, the first Mableton Rocks! event kicked off. The event featured about five bands from the Metro Atlanta area and was hosted by local favorite of the Cheap Whiskey Band, which played later that night.
