Harry's, Whole Foods to Assist Cobb Schools Foundation

Five percent of net sales from the East Cobb and Marietta stores on Wednesday will benefit the foundation's teacher grant program.

Wednesday's Community Giving Day at Whole Foods Merchants Walk in East Cobb and Harry's Farmers Market in Marietta will benefit the Cobb Schools Foundation’s Teacher IMPACT Grants program.  

The stores will donate five percent of their net sales on Wednesday to the program, which fund projects in reading, technology, science, math, arts and so much more.

Each year, the Cobb Schools Foundation awards grants to teachers in Cobb County School District to help fund creative and innovative ideas in education including reading, technology, science, math and the arts.  

Last year more than $22,000 was raised to fund 21 teacher grants, ranging from $500 to $2,500.

“We are so excited about our partnership with Whole Foods Market and the Cobb Community Foundation. This 5% Day community fundraising event will help to provide more grants to our Cobb County School District teachers and help bring learning to life in the classroom," said Sheri Brante, Executive Director of the Cobb Schools Foundation.

Whole Foods (1311 Johnson Ferry Road) and Harry's (70 Powers Ferry Road) also will have a Trick or Treat celebration from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday.
