Get in on a Singles Mixer, Outdoor Ballet and More this Memorial Day Weekend

is at it again, Salsa style. Get ready for “Salsa on the Patio Part II" being held at this popular Mableton restaurant on Sunday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. D.J. talent provided by La Noche Baila will be spinning tunes to get you on the dance floor and swinging those hips Latin style. A $5 cover is all that’s required to join in the fun and with food and drink specials throughout the night it’s sure to be one Memorial Day celebration you soon won’t forget. Revelers must be 21 and over.

Traditional blues and R&B artist Hugh Vaughn will be “burnin’ down the house” with his original and cover song renditions on Friday at . Vaughn has been entertaining Atlanta locals for nearly four decades and is known as the one man band with the “screaming guitar.” Have a cool libation or two and enjoy the free show which begins at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 10:30 p.m.

If dancing in bars isn’t your thing, then ballet under the stars might be a better choice. On Saturday, Mableton’s own will be lighting up the stage at the with their rendition of Swan Lake. The price of admission is free with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m. for general seating. The ballet begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

In honor of our troops overseas, the will be holding an all day card making event today. These homemade cards should be in a Fourth of July theme and will be sent to our troops to commemorate the U.S. Independence Day. A table with supplies will be available during the entire day for anyone wanting to come out and show their support of our hard working troops.

Let your inner Irish side shine and come to see the Celtic folk rock musical group, Shea’s Gin, perform live at the on Friday starting at 8 p.m. This local group hails from Kennesaw and will be recording their debut EP or extended play single this summer. The live show is free to the public, but you won’t be able to resist the baked goodies made in house at this local’s favorite coffee house.

If you’re looking for a little fun in the sun over the  Memorial Day holiday, Sun Valley Beach in Powder Springs will begin their full time operating hours this weekend. Sun Valley Beach has a multitude of activities for the entire family including one of the largest pools in the Southeast with 11 water slides, fountains, diving decks, picnic areas with grills, miniature golf and a petting zoo to name just a few. Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Ticket pricing is $20 for ages 12 and older and $17 for kids aged 2 to 11. Parking is an additional $3. Season passes are also available.

For those looking for that “special someone," be sure to attend the A Match Made in Heaven event being held at the on May 27, from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. This Christian singles social conference is sponsored by the non-denominational Church 24/7 International ministeries and will include a catered dinner, live deejay, comedy acts, karaoke and more.
