Five Things You Need To Know Today March 4-6

Here's a roundup of some interesting events and happenings in South Cobb for this first weekend in March.

Well, the first one is anyway. The popular biannual Orange Hill Baptist Church’s  Kids Kingdom sale will run through Saturday.

Come watch fathers play in Tonight is also . Tickets start at a discounted rate of $26.25 and include a meal from Chick-Fil-A. Five dollars from each ticket sold benefits the Cobb Schools Foundation.

On Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon, organizations and people from all over Cobb County will participate in the, an initiative to get more people out to volunteer and clean up their communities. The Austell Community Taskforce will meet at 8 a.m. at the Shell gas station at the intersection of Six Flags Drive and Six Flags Parkway and will proceed to clean up the section of Six Flags Drive that runs parallel to I-20. Update 9:20 a.m. Borders sent an e-mail to its customers which stated that new price cuts will be taken starting Saturday. All merchandise will be 25 to 50 percent off. Looking for cheap books? Also, until Sunday at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jim R. Miller Park on 2245 Callaway Road in Marietta. Donated items include hard and paperback books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and more. Prices range from 10 cents to $2.

The Historic Mableton Community Garden leadership team is gearing up for the spring planting season.  Bylaws and plot rental agreements will be posted on the Mableton Improvement Coalition website in the next few days.  The first orientation session is set for Sunday at the garden on Floyd Road across from the Mable House.  Email the Garden organizers to confirm your interest or ask any questions.
