Enjoy a day or the entire weekend with this week's Great Escape.

Walk among the flowers and enjoy live music to get away from it all this weekend.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie on Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Wednesday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week we’ll tell you one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.

Along with the cold gray days of Winter, come longing thoughts of Spring on the horizon. What better way to enhance those thoughts than to attend one of the Southeast’s largest flower events, the 24th Annual Southeastern Flower Show. The show is being held Fri, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Sat, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.; and Sun, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; at the in Smyrna.

The theme for this year’s event is “In Tune With Blooms” and will include live performances from instrumental and vocal groups throughout the day. There will also be live demonstrations on flower arranging as well as 29 educational seminars and forums held by professional designers, landscapers and horticulturists. Ticket pricing varies from $15 for one day to $35 for the entire weekend.

Beautiful flowers, awe inspiring landscaping exhibits and relaxing music makes this event one really great escape that’s almost in your own backyard.
