Earn Your Pumpkin Pie, Run the Annual Gobble Jog

The annual Thanksgiving Day run in Marietta is a great way to get a head start on that New Year's Resolution to get back in shape.

South Cobb is becoming a mecca for runners and brings in several every day with the Silver Comet Trail. For regular runners or those just looking to earn their pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving Day, there’s the annual Gobble Jog, sponsored by Wellstar and Marietta Daily Journal. Proceeds from the event go to benefit MUST Ministries.

The Gobble Jog is a perfect way to kickstart your diet right as the holidays begin with all those delicious diet-wrecking dishes slide across your dinner table or mock you from the office breakroom.

This year’s event is expected to be the largest one yet, bringing in thousands for the 10K, 5K, 1K and Tot Trot races that begin and finish at the Marietta Square.

The Gobble Jog is also a certifier for the annual Peachtree Road Race and the U.S. 10K Classic.

Last year, the event drew more than 8,300 participants from all 50 states and raised $285,000 for the nonprofit organization, which used the funds to provide food, clothing, shelter and more to individuals in need.

The event will take place rain or shine.
