Cobb County Furlough Day Today and More News

Today is a furlough day for Cobb County. So, all government offfices will be closed. They will also be closed on Monday in observance of Independence Day.

In an effort to help connect teens and foster an atmosphere of support, in conjunction with Teens What’s the Rush Inc. and , will be hosting a “Celebrate Life....Youth Summit” this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the . The event will address subjects such as coping with peer pressure, teenage pregnancy, underage drinking and more, as told through the poetry, music, dance and drama of other teens. Style Success Fashion consulting company will also be on hand to offer free advice and guidance about entering the workforce and tips on how to succeed. This event is free to kids in grades 6 through 12 and their parents. Today Chick-Fil-A on Austell Road is having another Cows for Cans Day. At the Cows for Cans drive, donated cans of food turn into hot food for you!  Here's what you get: two cans = one small side or drink, three cans = one medium side or drink, four cans = one large side or drink, five cans = one Chick-Fil-A or  Spicy sandwich or  eight nuggets or three strips, six cans = one deluxe sandwich or 12 nuggets or four strips. *Expired items will not be accepted.
