Anime, Spring Break fun, hero dads, dancing and martial arts

Meet local author of "WonderDads Atlanta" or let the kids run free at the Six Flags Spring Break week.

Patch has done the research and here are this weeks picks for great things to do with the kids.

ANIME AND ASIAN CULTURE CLUB
Where/When: , April 2, beginning at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Kids ages 13 - 18 will have the opportunity to join and participate in the Anime and Asian Culture Club activities by sharing manga drawings and viewing anime films.
Pricing: Free

SPRING BREAK AT SIX FLAGS
Where/When: Six Flags Over Georgia, April 2 - 10, Friday,10 a.m. until 9 p.m.; Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Why Go: Cool rides and live concerts to keep your kid’s entertained during Spring break.
Pricing: Daily tickets range from $34.99 to $49.99. Order online to get buy one get one free tickets. Buy season passes ranging from $49.99 to $89.99 to save big bucks. Parking cost is $15 for regular parking, $20 for premium parking. Season passes for parking are also available.

MEET “WONDERDADS ATLANTA” AUTHOR
Where/When: bookstore, April 2, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Why Go: Meet Lewis McNeely, author of “WonderDads Atlanta”. This successful book provides ideas for fun activities, deals and discounts for dad’s and their kids to enjoy together in Atlanta. The book lists over 400 activities and is updated annually. Free mobile access to the most recent updates are available with book purchase.
Pricing: Free.

DANCE CLASSES
Where/When: in Austell, class times vary.
Why Go: The Dance Factory offers a variety of dance instruction classes for children ages 2 through 18 including ballet, tap and jazz. Children can attend the school’s “recreational dancers” program with classes held daily or sign up and audition to be involved in competition dancing.
Pricing: Registration fees vary. Check the school website for more information.

TAE KWON DO TRAINING
Where/When: Gateway Martial Arts in Austell, Mon - Wed, kids ages 6 - 8, 5 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.; kids ages 9 - 11, 6:30 p.m. until 7:15 p.m.; Thurs, young children, 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.; older children, 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Why Go: Kids will not only learn self-defense techniques, but will also be taught self-discipline through the age old techniques of Tae Kwon Do. Currently there is no contract required for new students. Private lessons are also available as well as instructional classes focusing on Han Mu Do and Kenpo.
Pricing: Pricing varies per type of class chosen.
