10K Run, St. Patrick's Day Dance and Discount Beers

Come out and enjoy the early Spring weather on the Silver Comet Trail or find some inspiration at a local book store.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

SILVER COMET 10K RUN
Where/When: Silver Comet Trail, March 12, 6 a.m. at the in Mableton.
Why Go: This is the 13th annual Silver Comet 10K race for qualifying in the 2011 Atlanta Peachtree Road Race. The event is hosted by The Get Fit Atlanta Marathon/Triathlon Club and Training Program, and is the last qualifying race of the season. Go out and qualify for the biggest Atlanta road race of the year or go to cheer on your favorite runner
Pricing: $30 for registrations purchased by March 9. $35 the day of the race. Free for spectators.

ST. PATRICK’S DANCE
Where/When: , March 11, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Why Go: Wear your best green and white attire and dance like the leprechauns do. Light refreshments will be provided. This dance is sponsored by the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department Therapeutic Unit which offers special events and social clubs for developmentally challenged individuals age 16 and over. Pre-registration is required which can be mailed in or completed on-line at the PRCA website.
Pricing: $10 per participant.

GET INSPIRED
Where/When: , March 12, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Why Go: Meet and listen to Alva See, author of “Naked Before God: Out of Darkness Unto Light”.  A Christian faith based book on how individuals who follow God’s plan will begin to live in His light. Author Learthea Larry will also be attendance whose fictional works are based on her own experiences and how faith has helped her overcome life’s trials and tribulations.
Pricing: Free

SPORTS AND BEER
Where/When: , Sundays, all day.
Why Go: What goes better with sports than beer? Come watch your favorite game on a big screen tv and reap the rewards of $1 off all beers.
Pricing: Beer prices vary.

WINE AND ACOUSTIC GUITAR
Where/When: , March 12, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy the dulcet sounds of an acoustic guitar and imbibe on delicious wine specials in a relaxing atmosphere.
Pricing: Free music, wine special pricing varies.
