Atlanta Middle School Students Learn from SunTrust Executives at Junior Achievement Discovery Center

Students from Jean Childs Young Middle School learn about making smart investment decisions from Jenner Wood, Atlanta division president and CEO of SunTrust Bank Inc., at Junior Achievement's Chick-fil-A Foundation Discovery Center.

Last fall, Atlanta Public Schools, DeKalb County Schools, Fulton County Schools and Marietta City Schools integrated Junior Achievement’s financial literacy and work readiness education into their core curriculum for middle school students.

The learning experience begins in the classroom with four weeks of JA-provided curriculum, and then culminates with a day at the JA Discovery Center. The center is designed as a replica of the local business community, including “storefronts” of real companies in various sectors, including financial services, media, telecommunications, utilities, manufacturing and more.
