American homes can waste, on average, more than 10,000 gallons of water every year due to running toilets, dripping faucets and other household leaks. That’s enough water to wash approximately 270 loads of laundry! The Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District and local water providers encourage metro Atlanta residents to participate in the Water Drop Dash 5K race and then check their plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks during the annual Fix a Leak Week.
